Faculty positions
A renowned center for education and research in the social sciences
and humanities, Sciences Po is striving to reinforce and develop
its academic profile by hiring thirty new faculty members of international
standing within the next three year. In 2009, it began this campaign
by opening twelve new positions, reforming the recruitment procedures
and coordinating the needs of the different research and teaching
units at the university level. In particular, all job openings
have to be advertised internationally and preselected candidates
will give job talks that are open to the entire academic community
of Sciences Po. These public talks, which will be a complement
to the formal audition in front of the selection committee assure
a greater visibility and transparency of the recruitment procedure
and allow for interdisciplinary exchange on the work of the candidates.
The selection committees for both public and private positions
are examined by an interdisciplinary committee and made public
on the Sciences Po website. They are composed by internal and
external members, both from area in which the recruitment takes
place and from related fields to provide a balanced perspective
on the merits of each candidate.
