The
Alliance Program
Created in the fall 2002, the Alliance Program is a non-profit
transatlantic joint-venture between Columbia University and three
French prestigious institutions, The École Polytechnique,
Sciences Po and the Université of Paris I Panthéon
Sorbonne.
Alliance is an innovative program whose aim is to initiate and
accompany new initia-tives in the fields of education cooperation,
research collaboration, and policy out-reach. Over the last four
years the Alliance’s scope of activities have included the
organization of numerous academic conferences both in Paris and
in New York, the setting up of international multidisciplinary
research teams, and the creation of joint-courses and curricula
targeting the students of its founding partners.
The American Center is working in close partnership with the Alliance
Program on various transatlantic projects.

Global
Public Policy Network
The Global Public Policy Network (GPPN) is a partnership between
Columbia University, the London School of Economics and Political

and to be innovative in teaching and research. GPPN aims to do
this through:

European
networks
Since their launch in 1984, the Framework Programmes of the European
Commission have played a lead role in multidisciplinary research
and cooperative activities in Europe and beyond.
Sciences Po is a part of it, thanks to its European Office for
Research, which assists the scientific community in being selected
by the EC as a sound scientific partner. See a detailed
description of the European networks in which we are (in English).
Throughout the European Office for Research, Sciences Po takes
part to the network RISE - Raising
the Impact of the Social sciences and Economics, an international
network of research universities in the area of the social sciences
and economics. The member institutions share the wish to increase
the impact of social sciences and economics on social problems,
in particular in Europe. To achieve this RISE intends to :
* increase the relevance of the contributions of social sciences
and economics to the solution of Europe’s social problems,
* raise awareness of such contributions in relevant political
and academic circles as well as with the general public and
* enhance conditions to increase and strengthen such contributions
in the future.
In addition, Sciences Po is the leader of Euredocs,
a doctoral network on europeanisation of higher education and
research.
