From 20 to 24 June 2006 Sciences Po celebrates the 60th anniversary of its refoundation
Thus the 60th anniversary, as well as being a celebration of six decades of academic activity, is also an opportunity to outline perspectives for the future, in a complex world where traditional points of reference are in danger of losing their relevance. The five-day programme of lectures and debates, round-tables and discussions will address the fundamental issues facing our societies in the coming decades. The high point of the occasion will be the conferring of Honorary Doctorates. Such awards have been made only exceptionally in the history of Sciences Po: to date, similar awards ceremonies have been held only twice, in 1989 and 1993. The present occasion honours six leading figures from international university teaching and research: Robert O. Keohane (Princeton University), Peter A. Hall (Harvard University), Mark Granovetter (Stanford University), Mario Monti (Università Bocconi), Horst Möller (Institut für Zeitgeschichte) and Edmund S. Phelps (Columbia University).
